Peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on Sunday evening, January 13, 2019, in his 95th year. Predeceased by his parents José Pereira and Etelvina (Sousa) of Sao Miguel, Azores. Beloved husband of Barbara Goncalves. Beloved father of Joseph (Maria-Helena), Maria (Nicolau), Agostinho (Bel) and Virginia (Antonio). Proud grandfather of Nelson, Jennifer, Amanda, Stephanie, Anthony, Alex, Meagan, Gabriella, David and Nicholas. Proud great-grandfather of Emilie, Xavier, Thomas, Mathis, Andreas, Mauve, Sophia and Elizabeth. Predeceased by his beloved sister Madalena. Loving brother of Antonio, Isabel, Deniz, John and Agostinho. Loving uncle to their children and grandchildren. Many thanks to the staff of the General Hospital for their care. Friends are invited to visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road (at Aviation Parkway) on Friday, January 18 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Senhor Santo Cristo Church, 1100 Kenaston Street, on Saturday, January 19 at 11 a.m. Interment Beechwood Cemetery.
