Obituary for Linda Ann Wynne

Wynne ; Dr. Linda

Surrounded by those she loved, Linda passed away on January 8th at the age of 64. She will be missed by her beloved wife Ann Escott. Linda was the daughter of Helen (Kopelman) and Monty Wynne , brother of Geoff (Evelyne), coolest aunt of Melanie (James), Sacha (Sarah), Daniel (Nina), and Stefan (Salena), cherished friend of her “found family” in Ottawa and St. John’s. Linda did her Medical and Anesthesia training in London England, worked in several rural communities in Saskatchewan and Newfoundland, and then completed a Fellowship in Chronic Pain at the University of Ottawa. She came on staff at the Salvation Army Grace Hospital, then the Civic Campus and Chronic Pain Clinic of the Ottawa Hospital where she provided superb patient care and was a respected mentor of residents. Highlights of her career include being the Medical Director of the Chronic Pain Clinic, Residency Program Director, and working for “Operation Walk” and “Medicos en Accion” in Guatemala. Linda had a passion for life that included extensive travel, (especially to archeological treasures), grilling the perfect steak, owl photography, cars, and Apple tech. A Celebration of Life is planned on Sunday January 27th at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue. (at Byron Ave.) from 12:00 noon till time of Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m., followed by a reception.
