The Honourable Judge F. Hugh Poulin
Judge Hugh Poulin died peacefully in Ottawa on October 12, 2018 at the age of 87. Survived by his wife Maureen and their 5 children; Fabian (Carol Wahl), John (Jacinthe Belanger), Elizabeth (Stephen Dean), Diana (Dr. Pat Murphy) and Carole (Ronald Leger) of PEI. Fondly remembered by his 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sisters Betty, Louise and Marie.

Born, February 9,1931 in Ottawa to Fabian and Mary Poulin. He graduated in 1959 from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. He was called to the bar in 1960 and then commenced his law practice with Green and Poulin. Judge Poulin was a former Liberal member of Parliament. He was first elected in the Ottawa Centre riding in the 1972 general election, and then re-elected in the 1974 election. He left federal politics to become a judge of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, he also served as Chairman of the Pension and Appeals Board as well as to the Ministry Advisory Committee for appointments to the Immigration and Refugee Board until his retirement February 9, 2006 at the age of 75.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Farey, the nursing staff and the Personal Support Workers at Lord Lansdowne Retirement Home, Carefor and St Elizabeth Healthcare for their care, support and compassion. The support of family, friends and neighbours has been greatly appreciated.

Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave., (at Richmond Road), Ottawa on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 5 - 8p.m. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 17 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 153 Woodroffe Ave. at 11:00a.m. A Reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
