Condolence: My deepest sympathies to Shaun's family and friends. Tim and I were shocked and very much saddened to learn of his passing. I will always be grateful to Shaun for all the help and support he gave me when I was working at Citizenship and Immigration. At one point especially, the situation was very serious in that about 200 people were in danger of being laid off due to the closure of CIC's Toronto Call Centre. Shaun was instrumental in working with Regional staff as well as managers in the Mississauga Case Processing Centre and in the end, thanks largely to Shaun's efforts, no one was involuntarily laid off. I will always remember his warm personality and the big hugs I'd get from him at our gatherings at Hy's. Rest in Peace, my friend, and Godspeed.

Condolence: My deepest condolences to the Family and Friends. I met Shaun 5 years ago when I moved to Iqaluit, Nunavut while working for Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada. Shaun fast became a friend and colleague at the executive level and someone I could turn to for advice and insight in this divers and wonderful place southerners call the North. He was generous with his knowledge and experience and was always willing to lend a hand.

Condolence: To Shaun's family,
I was very fortunate to meet Shaun when I took an assignment as a Team leader for the Rankin Inlet, NU office. Shaun was my Director at the time.

I never met Shaun in person until I actually arrived in Nunavut. We conversed over the telephone and I took the assignment based on our telephone conversation. He made the conversation very comfortable with some humour and that's what sold me. He told me everything I needed to know and didn't hold back to tell me exactly what it's like living in the North. After the conversation with Shaun, I knew instantly that I wanted this opportunity.

He spoke very highly of his family back in Ontario and always with a huge smile and laughter in his voice.

Very saddened that he passed away so unexpectedly. He will be your guardian angel that will light your path in life each and every day.

Lean on eachother in this time of need. Hugs to all of you.

Betty Hegedus
