Obituary for Barton Roy Robinson

ROBINSON, Barton

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden but peaceful death of Barton Roy
Robinson on Sunday, May 20th, 2018. Barton (Bart) was born May 29 th , 1942 in
Toronto to Kathleen Irene Robinson (nee Barton) and Roy Alfred Robinson.
Brother to Louise Comeau (Robert), Royleen Robinson and Barry Robinson (Susan).
Survived by aunts Delsie Brigaitis and Norma Bolton and many cousins. Dearly
loved husband and best friend of Greta Robinson (nee Ballam) for 45 years. Deeply
loved and admired father of Roy Ian Robinson and his wife Cheryl and adored
grandpa of Benjamin and Jessica. Loved and respected by his stepchildren Sharon
Leeming Mann (Steven) and Russell Leeming (Epifania) and his step grandchildren
Kyle, Sarah, Justin, Mya and Ryan, and his nieces and nephews Christopher, Patricia,
Paul, Brian, Tina, Ericksen and their families. Grandfather figure to many including Jarvis and
Harry. Bart worked at the National Research Council for 27 years as a Technical
Officer with the Aerodynamics Laboratory. There he worked on many wind
engineering investigations including studies on long span bridges, tall buildings, and
naval ships. He made many life-long friends there. Bart was passionate about
aircraft, trains, and physics. Above all, he lived for his family. We shall miss him
terribly. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair &
McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor) on Wednesday, May 30 from 6 –
8:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Anglican Church,
1606 Fisher Avenue, on Thursday, May 31 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception. In
Memoriam donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute appreciated.
