Obituary for Barbara Thaw (Hitzig)

Peacefully, with her family by her side on December 6, 2017. Beloved wife for 63 years of Gerald Thaw. Loving mother of Allen (Liz), Howard (Amy), Mark (Lise) and Susan (Joel Greenberg). Proud Bubby of Alayna, Bryan (Cynthia), Emily, Leah, and Bethany. Great-grandmother of Dante. Dear sister of Stanley (Gail) Hitzig. Predeceased by her brother in law and sister in law Erwyn and Pearl Thaw. Fondly remembered by Dorothy Nadolny and nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1771 Cuba Avenue, on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11 am. Interment at the Jewish Memorial Gardens, 2692 Bank Street. Shiva will be observed at 29 Partridge Drive, on Saturday, December 9 from 7-9pm and Sunday December 10 – Wednesday December 13 from 1:30 – 3:30pm and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, In Memoriam donations to the Gerald and Barbara Thaw Endowment Fund (613-798-4696) or to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation – Clinical Trials (613-247-3527).
