Obituary for Anne Margaret Bouey (Ferguson)

Anne Margaret Bouey (nee Ferguson), died peacefully in Toronto at the Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, August 15, finally succumbing to vascular dementia at the age of 98. Predeceased by her dearly beloved husband Gerald K. Bouey, the former Governor of the Bank of Canada, she was the loving mother of Kathryn and Robert (Sandra Li) and loved by her granddaughter Nora Bishop. Dear sister of Kaye Ackerman and Allan Ferguson (the late Beverly) and predeceased by the late Olive Ursel (the late Norman) and John Ferguson (the late Dorothy). Dear sister-in-law of the late Lloyd Bouey (the late Anne), the late Dorothy Bouey, the late Bethel Adolph (the late George), and the late Garry Bouey (the late Betty). Also loved by her nieces and nephews. Anne had many friends across Canada and indeed internationally, including those made through the charitable initiatives she was involved with throughout her life. For her efforts on behalf of the National Capital Region YMCA-YWCA she was invested in the YMCA Canada's Fellowship of Honour in 1991. The family would like to thank the staff at the Dunfield Retirement Residence, Home Instead, the Toronto Central Community Access Centre and Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit for their excellent care. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Friday, August 18 from 6:00 to 8:00pm and Saturday, August 19 from 1:00 to 2:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the same location on Saturday, August 19 at 2:00pm. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Foundation of Ottawa, the National Capital Region YMCA-YWCA or the Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit.
