Condolence: Heartfelt condolences to the family. I knew Joan primarily not in her impressive professional capacity but as the no less impressive foreign service spouse of Randy Gherson, the perfect complement and foil for him. She was elegant, positive, always interesting in her own right at all times, and concerned about others - in sum, herself a great representative of Canada. I was very sorry to hear of her loss.
