Suddenly, at home in Cantley, Quebec on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, aged 60 years. Beloved son of Ruth Gilmer (nee Valcour/Furlong) and the late Donald R. Valcour and late step-father, C. Paul Gilmer. Loving brother of Wm Paul Valcour, Michael Valcour (Karen) and the late Heather Ann Valcour. Will be sadly missed by his step-sister Heather Lynne Hughes (Randy) and his step-brother Randi Gilmer (Jennifer). Mark was valued and respected by colleagues and students as a career audio technologist in the School of Journalism, Carleton University and Algonquin College. He was a long-time supporter of campus/community radio broadcasting, especially CKCU-FM and CKDJ-FM. A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held at the North Grenville Municipal Centre in Kemptville, ON on Saturday, January 17, 2015, 7 - 11 p.m. Private family interment at South Gower Cemetery in the Spring. Donations in memory of Mark can be made to a charity of Choice.
